Tournament Rules

  • The decision to fish is solely the captain’s choice. All female anglers fish at their own discretion and risk. If the tournament committee determines it is unsafe to fish, all prizes will still be presented by randomly selecting boat names at the awards party. Under such circumstances you must be present to win. No refunds or rain checks will be given.
  • Fish must be caught on rod and reel (no electric reels). Kites, wire lines, downriggers, and planers are allowed. Live bait, dead bait, and artificial baits are permitted. There are no restrictions on line test.
  • Eastern fishing boundary is 25 nautical miles off the Florida coast. Bahamas are prohibited. No limits to number of lines a boat may fish.
  • State and federal recreational fishing rules regarding weight, size, and bag limits must be observed. A state fishing license is required by law. Only legal sized fish will be weighed and no billfish will be weighed.
  • Prizes are awarded to the heaviest three of each KDW (Kingfish, Dolphin, Wahoo). The single largest “Meat Fish” caught from the species list including Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Blackfin Tuna. (The award is for the single largest meat fish, not top fish in each species.)
  • The Billfish category is determined by points. The award in this category is for the Top Female Angler and the Top Overall Boat based on points. Blue Marlin (300), White Marlin (200), and Sailfish (100). Photo verification required for each release. A time/date photo from your phone is sufficient and must be shown to our weigh master when you turn in your catch sheet.
  • Channel 78A will be our primary channel on the VHF with Channel 82 as a backup.
  • Each boat is allowed to weigh (1) fish per category and prizes will be awarded to the winning registered female angler.
  • This is an all female angler tournament. Male captains and mates are permitted. Fish weighed must be caught from start to finish by a single registered female angler.
  • The official tournament start will be a Bimini start outside the Lake Worth Inlet. A holding area will be designated on the north side of the inlet. Participation in the Bimini start is at the sole discretion of each participating boat. All boats must remain inside of the tournament Bimini start area until the start of the tournament at 8 a.m.
  • Tournament scale opens at 1 p.m. No mutilated fish will be weighed. Registered anglers entering fish must return to the tournament scale no later than 4:30 p.m. Fish must be weighed in the presence of the weigh master and angler and recorded on an official weigh-in form. No fish or anglers can be transferred between boats. Keep your fish adequately iced. Billfish releases must be photographed and recorded on the provided release form, including time of release, in order to be scored. The release form must be signed by the captain and submitted to the weigh master during the times the scales are open.
  • Time of weigh-in and or release will break all ties.
