H.O.W. (Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper)
Raises money to support basic or translational research in ovarian cancer through the Jacquie Liggett Research Fellowship. Women with ovarian cancer experiencing financial need are helped through the Jacquie Liggett Angel Fund. H.O.W. is dedicated to promoting awareness and recent advances in ovarian cancer by presenting educational programs to women primarily in our area. H.O.W. also provides support to medical students interested in gynecologic oncology by working with a Gynecologic Oncologist during their elective time in medical school through the Dr. Robert C. Knapp Medical Student Award.
"We are so fortunate to be a recipient of the annual Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure ladies fishing tournament again this year. The support we receive from this wonderful event will allow us to continue to ease some of the financial burdens many women in Palm Beach County experience when they are undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer. The Bluewater Babes organization is a valuable partner in our community and we are grateful for their support and vision.” - Anne Messer, H.O.W. Board Member
Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope, Inc.
A Palm Beach County not-for-profit organization which eases the burden of qualified local cancer patients by paying their non-medical bills and providing information resources.
"The Cancer Alliance of Help and Hope has been honored to be a recipient of funds raised by the Bluewater Babes tournament. This money has been used to assist breast cancer patients with normal everyday living expenses such as their rent, mortgage, utilities, car payments, car and health insurance. These women are undergoing major financial issues at this time and because of the funds received, they are able to stay in their homes, have utilities, a way to treatment and this lessens the stress on them. They can concentrate on healing and not where the next rent payment is coming from.” - Jean Fischer, CAHH Founding Director
